I'd like to set a target profit, but I know if I did that I wouldn't hit it for shit.

Well was meant to start this morning, but didn't get up until 2:20!!

Started late but still managed to get £4.72 out of the first two races, and didn't miss an enthralling gold cup!

Phew that was close, I messed up on the 14:45, some had a bet left in play giving me a red on Kie for -£26, but he dropped off the pace at the end to leave me with a £16 green, not going to complain, but a slap on the wrist for it all the same!

Ahh! Must be still half asleep, let another go in play and got burned for £13, though sorted that over the next 4 trades for a profit of £22.03 overall.

28 Markets to attend to today, first two races got off to a bit of profit.

Hexham 12:20 - plus £0.11
Lingfield 12:40 - plus £0.15

Only ended up trading them two races, then started market watching and playing around in practice mode, in practice mode I lost close to £5.50, though on reflection on the markets now I lost most my trades where the Favourite has had stable odds leading up to the 10min pre-race mark.

Trading the stable favourites gave me a loss of £8 alone!

Obviously I'll need more than one day to back up what I already thought, but its a start.

Day five

Well day four didn't go as expected, as I had to dash out 5 minutes before the first race, and wasn't back until 10 mins before he last race.

Here's to today being a bit more successful!

Though I'm gonna restrict the markets I trade to test a theory I've got at the moment.

EDIT: Actually on second thoughts I might not trade today, I might just watch the pre-race markets, I've got an idea of what markets I make losing trades in, though the first race of the day I believe looks ripe for profit so I'll trade that one and we'll see!

Well I did end up trading in the end from 13:20 onwards, aamade £4.44, though no screenshots today.

First days trading!

Was intending to start on the weekend but managed a few races on the Friday, would have posted them yesterday was it not for a blogger error I kept getting!

The day ended on a profit of close to 40%
Though was only trading with £10, beginners luck?
We'll have to wait and see!

Since my last post I've been re-evaluating my involvement within horse racing and sports a betting as a whole, though I have been working on a few things that have kept me ticking over and have had the occasionaly gander at everybody elses blog, I felt I'd lost my way with my blog before, it ended up having no meaning to it towards the end, thats why I stepped back from it.

I've spent a lot of time watching videos and studying form, but I want to try my hand at trading again, and focus on it when I have time to fit in a few races around work.

I'll probably start within the next few days, working nights is killer for catching the first races of the day!

Though I will be around soon enough and start documenting things, though I can promise it won't be all plain sailing!!

Backing horses is where the money is..

After laying horses for well over a year along side backing horses, I've finally given up with the laying part. It may be ok for some, but the minimal ROI and the amount of selections just got tiresome, especially when the backing part has such a huge ROI in comparison. Not to mention its more fun to watch a long shot come in!

Does this mean I will start writing my blog again!? Maybe, maybe not.
Writing this blog has had its perks, allowed me to keep things in check a bit better, and met some great people along the way, but still is another time consuming thing along with dealing with subscribers, doing selections and working fulltime.

And you may see me back soon writing, though with the new site being launched soon, There will be a blog on there, so will be moving everything there eventually.

Running a little behind schedule with the new site, but hopefully should be up within the next few days.

All the rebranding is ready to be launched across the main site, blog and twitter.
As you'll see the name of the blog has changed to A Man That Blogs.
It's part of a bigger picture that will become clear pretty soon.

Would have posted sooner but been busy playing Pro Evo Soccer 2011 Become A Legend mode and the new Football Manager 2011, Just got the lowly Ebbsfleet promoted in my first season.

Looking at the new releases I'll be pretty busy coming up to christmas, Call of Duty: Black Ops is out tomorrow, and those that I've spoke to know that I'm a huge Call of Duty fan. Then there is Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood which looks to die for!

The new era..

I said changes were coming, and you'll start seeing them soon, starting with the overhaul of both this blog and my twitter which is @amanthatlays if anybody uses it.

Over the coming week the design of the blog will change to coincide with the new redesigned main website, twitter will also see the same graphical overhaul, leading up to the launch of the new site around the 10th November.

Currently the site is coming along fine, its mostly coding work thats needs to be done, the colour palette and design is virtually finished, time for all the back end stuff that will make it go like clockwork.

If anybody is familiar with vwar, you'll hopefully appreciate how I am modding it to record my results on the site, to be updated daily, instead of the monthly updated spreadsheet that could be downloaded. To get vwar working how I wanted it I've had to tinker with the coding and the admin side. but fingers crossed it should all go to plan!

All the long nights, all the spread sheets, all the race watching, the wait is nearly over, just finalising a few things and you'll see..

Yes I know I've not been around for a couple of weeks, but there is good reasons behind it which I will reveal very soon, I can't quite let the cat out of the bag just this second!

Though what I can say is I'm changing the way I run my tipster service, its been plodding along for months and months now, and its been more of a hobby, using my passion and my aquired knowledge to help others.

Though that will be changing over the next few weeks, and will be turned around more like a business, especially since going to uni fell through thanks to my tutor.

I now have the required hours in the day to put alot more into it than just hobby hours..
But don't worry I will come back to running this blog, but eventually it will be implemented into the bigger picture, along with getting my monthly subscriber newsletter back up and running and actually doing something with my twitter account, though that will need rebranding.

With my ongoing research from the 18 months I now believe I can consistantly produce profits from both backing and laying horses, and in the over/unders market for football, though football will come at a later date as I'm still collecting data and won't jump in head first to something I'm not 200% sure of.

AW racing is something that will come with more time as well, as I believe the AW is just glorified greyhound racing and it needs a different kind of horse analysis compared to anything over turf.

Also along side the changes I will actually try and write a proper blog, instead of what it has been...
no more literally just posting up times and names of horses, I'll try to actually write something engaging, and if anybody wants to bring a subject up for discussion then drop me a line and it can be discussed, argued, whatever, however...

Small Update

Well hehe is the update I promised, over the last 6 days I've been working on a system I created ages ago (and left on the shelf) and been tweaking since until I was happy I could pull a month from any year and it would produce profits.

I'm pretty sure it does that now, during the research I covered 18 months, between 2005 and 2010, no 2 months in a row. Just to make sure it wasn't something backfitted.

Over the last 18 months I've not found one losing month, with the mimimum profit being 30 points a month and the maximum being 120 points a month.

The last 6 days I've been running it myself using the GHB bot, as good as the bot is I still can't make it lay and place lay the same selection all the time due to there being no way of linking the 2 markets.

Even with this small problem the last 6 days have produced these figures:

Obviously back dated results don't mean it would work long term though the research is very promising as are the 6 days results which I'll continue to follow and record.

30 second decision

I haven't posted in a few days, not due to the lack of selections, quite the opposite, just having to find a work around for them as they are left to the last 30 seconds pre-race.

I could probably stick up a few in the morning based on odds, though the final selection depends on whether the horse is favourite and meets criteria, currently I'm trying automate it with GHB, already shortened the timing that it scans the markets. Before I had it set on 2 minutes, but if there was two close favourites and they managed to switch places in that 2 minutes then they'd both get layed, though dropping it to 30 secs seems to have fixed it somewhat.

I'll be back in a few days with another update, or back tomorrow with some selections if I can sort them out.

Time for a clear out.
